Known as the hubs of activity in the community, our Seniors Support Centres offer a wide variety of social and recreational activities, including painting, coffee club, yoga, crafts, book club and more. Contact your local Senior Support Centre for the latest activity calendar.

Friendly Visiting

Feel connected with your community.

The Friendly Visiting program offers one-on-one visits with a Carefor volunteer or team member for people who find it difficult to leave their home. In addition to making home-visits, our team of professionals are happy to lend an ear by offering one-on-one phone calls with seniors, so they maintain a strong personal connection to their community.

Exercise Classes

Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, staying fit as we age helps to improve overall well-being.

Improve your health and well-being in these fun and social classes which include stretching, basic exercises, and yoga. Classes are offered by a trained Fitness Instructor.

Congregate Diners’ Club

Meet your neighbours and catch up over a delicious, affordable meal.

The Congregate Diners’ Club lets older adults socialize over a delicious, affordable meal while being entertained with music, or listening to a guest speaker. Contact us to learn more and to book your spot.

Crisis Intervention & Assistance

Sometimes it takes a community to support an individual in need.

This service offers crisis intervention and support in critical situations for vulnerable and at-risk seniors, persons with physical disabilities and or their significant others. Services include intervention, support, advocacy, access to services and community referrals.

Caregiver Support

A space for you and other caregivers to learn, share, support, and recharge.

The caregiver monthly support group and individual one-on-one meetings offer a safe place for you to share, gain support and take a much-needed break. Learn more about some of the health conditions your loved one is experiencing, find resources, connect with others who also share the role of caregiver, and relax – this is your time.

Finch Adult Day Program

Adult Day Program

Adult Day Programs offer supervised and supportive activities for seniors and people with specialized needs such as dementia and physical disabilities.  Program activities are flexible and tailored to clients’ abilities and interests. They’re designed to enhance clients’ well-being, while giving care-givers a day of respite. Carefor offers five adult day programs for people living with dementia.

The staff facilitate many different types of programs throughout the day for our clients to enjoy. These may include:

  • Fitness, strength and balance
  • Cognitive Exercise
  • Arts and Crafts
  • Word/Board games
  • Trivia
  • Pet Therapy 
  • Gardening
  • Music
  • Baking and cooking
  • Outings
  • Reminiscing
  • Themed Activity Days

Clients enjoy a morning snack and a full hot lunch. We can accommodate some diet restrictions and special requests.

If needed, staff can arrange transportation for your day, either with our agency bus or van, or by a volunteer driver using their own vehicle. 

Please note there is a nominal fee associated with this program.

Elder Abuse Prevention Program

Elder abuse can happen to anyone, regardless of culture, gender, race or financial status.

The Carefor Elder Abuse Prevention Program provides confidential services that protect older adults experiencing abuse through intervention, support, consultation, and community referrals. We offer community support services within the Eastern Counties including Cornwall, Prescott-Russell, Stormont, Dundas, Glengarry, and Akwesasne.  Short-term crisis beds are also available to seniors until permanent and safer arrangements are made.

Carefor’s five Support Centres enrich the lives of older adults and their caregivers by offering a wide-range of community support services in in the Eastern Counties. Our team of professional and dedicated staff are here to support people when they need it most, creating healthier and happier communities.

Home of Carefor’s Adult Day Program in the Eastern Counties, the North-Stor Support Centre in Finch serves seniors and their caregivers living in North Stormont.

Found in Ingleside along the scenic St Lawrence River, the South Stormont Support Centre offers older adults the freedom to live active, healthier lives with its revitalized fitness program.

It’s more than just a ride to an appointment.

Our non-urgent transportation program offers flexible and affordable transportation to help individuals unable to access other means of transportation to local and out of town medical appointments. But it’s more than just a ride, it’s a friendly smile along the way.
