This unique 16-unit retirement home is specifically designed for women living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. 15 minutes south of Kanata in peaceful Richmond, Ontario, Richmond Care Home offers exceptional and affordable dementia care.

The women who live at Richmond Care Home are our top priority. Their health, safety, comfort and happiness motivate all we do. This is why Richmond Care Home is an Alzheimer’s and dementia care retirement home specifically designed to ensure the 16 women who live here feel at home.

We have designed a space that is both cozy and state of the art ensuring the best experience in memory care. And being run by Carefor, a not for profit in Ottawa since 1897, ensures that people are our priority.

Located on a large, quiet space on the western edge of Ottawa, Richmond Care Home feels like home.

Home cooked and delicious meals are made in the heart of the home and we’re fully staffed to ensure optimal health.

There are plenty of opportunities to be active and connect with friends inside and in our private garden.

Resident Criteria

  • Female
  • Aged 55 years or older
  • Confirmed to have dementia; experiencing mild to moderate memory loss
  • Ambulatory
  • Able to feed herself and manage some self-care with assistance

Unfortunately, we are not able to accept applicants who exhibit a pattern of responsive behaviours, such as aggression, or who have acquired traumatic brain syndrome.
