The Opportunity: Maintenance Worker – Temporary, Part-time

Under the supervision of the Building Services Manager, the Summer Maintenance Worker will perform duties as directed. Such duties are performed in accordance with Carefor’s Mission Statement, established policies, procedures and current legislation following a team based approach.

What You Will Do:
- Maintain a clean, safe, external environment
- Collect garbage from external receptacles, and deposit in the designated area, as directed.
- Basic lawn care, as directed. Knowledge or previous use of garden equipment would be an asset.
- Reports the absence of or defect in any equipment or protective device of which he/she is aware and which may endanger him/herself or another worker
- Reports any violations of the Health and Safety Act or the regulations, or the existence of any hazard
- Ensures all workplace incidents are reported in a timely manner in accordance with legislation, and Carefor policies and procedures for workplace injuries and incidents
- Performing other duties/tasks as assigned by manager

Eligibility Criteria:
- between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.

Rate of pay: $17.60 per hour
Hours of work: 60 hours bi-weekly or 0.8 FTE
Length of term: July 6, 2026 – August 21, 2026
