Do you have a passion for community and building connections? Carefor is looking for a Senior Fundraising Specialist to help us with our mission of providing exceptional care and support to the people of Eastern Counties at our Hospice and our seniors support centres in Eastern Counties.

Reporting to the Director, Communications, Marketing and Fundraising, the Senior Fundraising Specialist will use their skills and expertise to build community connections to raise essential funds for our programs in Eastern Counties while simultaneously sharing information about the value of our important work.

The Senior Fundraising Specialist will lead on the regional execution of the organization’s fundraising strategy by following and implementing regional fundraising plan through social media, direct mail, donor engagement, donor stewardship and event planning and execution.

Job Description
  • What You Will Do:
    • Develops, and executes comprehensive fundraising strategy and annual work plan to meet regional fundraising targets in support of Carefor Hospice Cornwall and Eastern Counties programs and services
    • Identifies stories of clients, care-partners, staff and volunteers to use in regional communications and fundraising campaigns
    • Develops and delivers integrated communications to external stakeholders through advertising, direct marketing, digital and social media
    • In accordance with organizational guidelines and the communications and fundraising strategy, promotes the organization by:
    • Developing content across all digital and social media platforms
    • Overseeing the design, production and copy-writing of print material
    • Engaging with local media through writing press releases, organizing media, and responding to routine media enquiries
    • Maintains prospect list and works with Regional Council members to identify and steward potential and existing donors
    • Tracks and reports on progress toward fundraising goals
    • Coordinates vendors to support with communications and fundraising campaigns and strategies
    • Develops and monitors budget
    • Plans, organizes and coordinates fundraising events
    • Supports third-party events as needed
    • Secures and coordinates sponsorship (in kind and cash)
    • Enters and tracks donations and updates information in the donor database
    • Other related tasks as assigned
  • Qualifications
    • Post-secondary degree in communications or a related field (e.g., marketing, journalism, or fundraising)
    • Certified Fund Raising Executive, an asset
    • Minimum of three-years of experience leading fundraising activities as well as experience developing and implementing social media campaigns
    • Experience in communications
    • Experience coordinating the deployment of volunteers to support fundraising activities an asset
    • Experience with design tools including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite
    • Experience with video production is an asset
    • Excellent writing and interpersonal skills
    • Strong time management and planning skills
    • Bilingualism (English/French), an asset
    • Work from home is possible, however, the successful candidate would need to be available to work from the office in Cornwall as needed.

    Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

    Salary: $63,297.00 -$87,028.50 per year

    Flexible Language Requirement:

    • 8-hour shift
