Food has the power to bring people together. Carefor’s staff and volunteers see this power everyday when they’re preparing and delivering hundreds of meals to seniors and vulnerable people in your community. Every meal contributes to the overall well-being of people who need it most, and acts as a trusted safety net for those who may be living alone. The Carefor Meal Delivery Program is essential, and we need your help to feed your community.
At a time when both operational and food costs are soaring due to historic inflation, the impact on older adults goes beyond cutting stretching every dollar, leading to a decline in overall health and wellbeing, as well as considerable social and economic hardships. You can make a difference, by helping keep that safety net that Carefor delivers with every meal. Nutritious and affordable food is not a luxury, but a right.
Every March, Carefor celebrates March for Meals week, recognizing the importance of essential meal delivery programs across the Eastern Counties. Carefor and its team of dedicated volunteers have delivered over 24,000 meals to residents of North Dundas, Stormont, and Glengarry this past year. Help us continue our mission of delivering affordable nutritious meals to seniors and adults in need.

Nineteen years ago, Gerald and Lorraine found peace and community in South Glengarry through their local support centre. After Gerald had a fall this past year, Lorraine was able to turn to Carefor to get the support she needed to keep him well at home. |
Some people see volunteering as a means of filling their time after retiring from a lifelong career. For others like Barbara Ann, it’s a passion instilled within them from their upbringing and shared with generations to come. |
Many people decide to volunteer with Carefor as a means of staying active and passing time in their retirement. However, sometimes volunteers find themselves needing Carefor’s services. Paul was one of those people, and by receiving meals he was able to maintain his independence. |
