Caring for Everyone Under the Sun and Rainbow!

On August 27th, Carefor attended Ottawa’s Capital Pride Parade! Carefor brought together a group of staff, family, and friends to march in the parade along with nearly 300 other local organizations and companies. The grand total attendance of the parade was over 10,000 people with thousands more lining the parade route.

This year was the first year that Carefor participated in the event. As an organization which supports over 20,000 seniors in Eastern Ontario, our mandate of offering exceptional home and community care knows no bounds. We truly Carefor all. Additionally, we are fortunate enough to be made up of a team of tremendous diversity and are proud to have members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community on our team.

Pride parades were founded in protest, in radical dream of a better world for all queer and trans people amidst a global rise in anti-2SLGBTQIA+ hate. Pride is meant to challenge systematic inaction, confront hate, and bring people together to celebrate unity. Capital Pride 2023 broke all sorts of records in attendance, spectators, and time spent on the parade route.

Carefor is grateful and proud to have had the opportunity to attend Capital Pride 2023 and is excited to continue attending for many years to come.
