Apr\u00e8s que Karen Green a re\u00e7u un diagnostic de d\u00e9mence il y a plus de trois ans, presque tous les aspects de sa vie ont chang\u00e9. Mais l’une des rares choses qui sont rest\u00e9es les m\u00eames \u00e9tait l’amour entre elle et son mari, Kevin.<\/p>\n

\u00ab Il y a encore une personne chaleureuse et ressentie l\u00e0-dedans \u00bb, dit Kevin. \u00ab Nous nous aimons les uns les autres. C’est ma bien-aim\u00e9e.<\/p>\n

Kevin souligne l’importance de l’amour et de la compassion comme la meilleure fa\u00e7on de soutenir quelqu’un dans son parcours de d\u00e9mence. Il a r\u00e9cemment commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 apprendre \u00e0 jouer de la guitare et du ukul\u00e9l\u00e9 parce qu’il sait \u00e0 quel point sa femme aime la musique.<\/p>\n

Alors que l’\u00e9tat de Karen continue de progresser, Kevin s’adapte aux changements jour apr\u00e8s jour, mais leur amour ne faiblit jamais\u00a0: \u00ab\u00a0Si elle est heureuse, je suis heureuse.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p>\n

Cela dit, le couple comprend les d\u00e9fis d’\u00eatre un soignant jour\u00a0 et nuit<\/a>. Pour les aider \u00e0 mieux \u00e9quilibrer leur vie, Karen participe au programme de jour pour adultes Perley-Rideau depuis<\/a> deux ans maintenant, o\u00f9 elle reste socialement connect\u00e9e et physiquement active.<\/p>\n

\u00ab C’est us\u00e9, [et] \u00e7a finit par \u00eatre un voyage solitaire. Si ce n’est pas pour des tenues comme Carefor … ce serait insupportablement solitaire… c’est donc une chose tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cieuse \u00bb, admet Kevin. \u00ab Je pense que Carefor fait quelque chose de bien. Il y a beaucoup de choses que d’autres personnes peuvent apprendre d’eux.<\/p>\n
