Position(s): One (1) Full-time Information Technology (IT) Security Administrator
Hours of work: Monday-Friday, 8am – 4:30pm
Job Summary:
The IT Security Administrator is responsible for securing Carefor’s hardware, software, and networks and all technology operations. The IT Security Administrator will be integral in elevating Carefor’s security posture by implementing security best practices and frameworks that align with the business requirements. The IT Security Administrator is required to understand the network infrastructure, monitor & evaluate threats and make recommendations to protect the network. This requires planning, evaluating and implementing security strategies to prevent breaches and ensure that Carefor’s digital assets are secure
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Drives all aspects of securing Carefor’s infrastructure and is responsible for identifying security threats
- Specific analysis, research, and recommendations to rectify and implement improved measures for Carefor’s overall security posture. Example: Securing Personal Health Information (PHI)
- Enhances Cyber Security Awareness program
- Be an evangelist for security best practices and works in compliance with security standards; writes documentation for audits
- Generates reports for both technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
- Uses analytic tools to determine emerging threat patterns and vulnerabilities
- Maintains an information security risk register and assist with internal and external audits relating to information security
- Coordinates and oversees security operations and data protection across all Carefor systems and departments,
- Oversees emergency patch and vulnerability management for all Carefor systems
- Enhances staff security training on formal security protocols, cyber security, as well as the identification of information security breaches and the prevention thereof
- Provides security monitoring through tools and processes through 24/7 real-time
- Maintains integrity of software-and-hardware through internal and external reviews and audits
- Performs Root Cause Analysis on all near miss & security breaches, with a Post-mortem Analysis for management
- Improves Carefor’s Incident Response and Disaster Recovery protocols and executes tabletop simulations for security incidents and breach response
- Responsible for Data Loss prevention monitoring & enhancing data encryption on all systems and processes at rest and in transit
Qualifications include:
- University degree Computer Science, Programming, or Engineering or related field and a minimum of 5 years of relevant IT security experience or similar role or equivalent combination of education and experience Microsoft 365 certifications (Fundamentals or higher)
- CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) or CISM (Certified Information Systems Manager) certification or equivalent
- Good understanding of the cyber security risks associated with various technologies and ways to manage them
- Experience with scripting languages and automation tools
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities and explain how to avoid them
- Ability to work in a team oriented collaborative environment
- Knowledge of Security Regulations and Standards
- Experience executing logical and complex troubleshooting methods
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills with a proven effective customer service focus
Qualifications considered an asset:
- Experience working in a health care environment and/or working in a non-profit organization
- Ability to converse in both official languages
- ITIL Certification
- Microsoft Azure Security
- Knowledge of Splunk, Carbon Black, Rapid7, Qualys
