Martin Hajek, completed his Bachelor of Commerce degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland and then relocated to Ontario to begin his career as human resources professional. Since then, Martin has spent over 30 years in progressively senior human resources positions.
Martin began his career in the automotive, brewing and high tech sectors. It was there that he acquired his strong interest in labour relations, and developed his collaborative, practical approach to problem solving.
Martin’s first exposure to the health care sector was with a complex continuing care hospital in Toronto. It was there that Martin developed a passion for health care, and for implementing human resources practices that benefit patients as well as employees. Since that initial step, Martin has worked exclusively in health care for the past 16 years, working with Canadian Blood Services and the Champlain CCAC (Champlain LHIN) before joining Carefor as Director of Human Resources.
Martin is a strong advocate for employee wellness and work life balance. He is an avid recreational cyclist and tends to spend his vacations cycling through ridiculously hilly routes.
