Janet Dunbrack is a member of the Carefor Board and serves on the Ottawa Regional Council and the Talent Management Committee.
Janet is a retired health policy consultant based in Ottawa. Much of her professional work involved issues of cancer, chronic disease management, HIV/AIDS, palliative care, family caregivers, and strategic planning for clients including the federal government and national health organizations.
She has been a volunteer in hospice palliative care for more than 30 years and is Past Chair of Hospice Care Ottawa. Janet is a former Executive Director of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association. She is a grief support volunteer for Hospice Care Ottawa and serves on the board of the Community Laundry Co-operative, a charitable organization providing affordable laundry facilities and counselling services.
Janet is a recipient of the Queen’s Golden Jubilee medal for service to palliative care in Canada and the June Callwood Hospice Volunteer award. Her professional background also includes scientific research and journalism.
